Academic System
Geeta Jyoti School is affiliated to the C.B.S.E. It prepares the students for the C.B.S.E. Examination which is recognized for admission to pre degree courses in the Indian Universities. The C.B.S.E. system lays great stress on work experience, art and physical education apart from the academics. A uniform policy of teaching termed as ‘Multiple Intelligences Programme’ is followed. Based on the continuous research that mind, body and intellect are inseparable, the programme is based on the four pillar of learning as suggested by Jacques Delores in his report Learning: The Treasure Within for the UNESCO.
This criterion emphasizes on other skills along with basic academic knowledge. Keeping in mind all these factors we at Geeta Jyoti came to the conclusion that Jacques Delores learning system is perfectly apt for modern students. It runs on the following model:
We believe that each individual is blessed with Multiple Intelligences. Here at Geeta Jyoti, we have integrated the principle of Multiple Intelligences into our school curriculum along with four main learning styles i.e. Visual, Auditory, Read/Write and Kinesthetic (VARK). The study material under the MIEP has been specially designed to enhance the same by the Geeta Jyoti Core Consultants resource team. The focus is on stimulating the child to explore his/her little world for better learning. Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation and Alternate Evaluation System keep children of diverse range of abilities in a learning mode.
Emergent Curriculum
At Geeta Jyoti we follow the policy of ‘Emergent Curriculum’. We believe curriculum emerges while exploring what is socially relevant and intellectually engaging. Emergent Curriculum is not only built on children’s interest but also interest of teachers, parents and society. The values and concerns of all the stakeholders involved help the curriculum and classroom culture evolve.
